Mosaic® Fractional Laser

What is Mosaic Fractional Laser?

The Mosaic Fractional Laser, a newer generation of the Fraxel Restore, is a state of the art laser system using Controlled Chaos Technology which causes multiple microscopic points of laser energy to penetrate the skin in a random sequence, in a fashion similar to spray painting.

The treatment, with minimal downtime, stimulates new collagen production, reduces pigmentation and sun damage and restores a glow to your skin.

What are the uses for Mosaic?

Mosaic Fractional Laser can be used to treat areas on the face and body and is especially effective for reducing fine lines in the areas around the eyes and mouth. You can have a more youthful appearance by treating conditions that are typically associated with premature signs of aging and sun damage including brown spots,  large pores, fine-lines and can improve overall skin texture.

This laser is also used to diminish the appearance of scarring from either acne, surgical procedures or stretch marks.

Conditions

Large Pores

Decreased elasticity is the main cause of enlarged pores. To help control oils and encourage the pores to stay clean, we recommend using BHA (Salicylic Acid). We also recommend a custom daily skin care regime. This could include retinoids, antioxidants and growth factors to keep the skin tight and...

Stretch Marks

In areas of stress on the tissues, breakdown of the skin’s collagen and elastin result in stretch marks. For example, during periods of rapid growth or weight gain. Stretch marks commonly appear on the buttocks and upper thighs of adolescent girls, over the breasts and abdomen in pregnancy, and over...

Acne

Acne is a condition that results from the combination of excessive sebum production, the plugging of pores, and the inflammatory action of skin bacteria. Features of acne include blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, pustules, and cysts which may result in permanent scarring and skin discoloration. Above all, it is important to get...

Acne scarring

Acne scarring is the result of inadequate treatment of active acne. Eventually, it tends to become more noticeable as our skin ages.
Consequently, acne scarring can appear in the form of skin discoloration, deep pits(ice-pick scars), rolling scars, broader depressions, and thin flat or lumpy scars.

Age-related facial changes

Deterioration of the skin becomes apparent when we age. This is due to the effects of the sun and results in the skin becoming thinner and losing strength, hydration and elasticity. Brown spots can appear as can the appearance of small veins and large pores. The skin loses its smoothness...

Melasma, Freckles, Sun Spots

A brown spot is due to changes in pigmentation. A solar lentigo - also known as a liver spot or sun spot - appears as a brown spot on the skin that is darker than the surrounding skin. It is due to sun exposure and is most common in areas...

Lax Skin

Lax skin (loose sagging skin) along with folds and wrinkles on the face and body typically can be the cause of the aging process or sun exposure. In addition, rapid loss of weight can also result in lax skin. There are a number of Lax skin treatments available in Victoria...

Sun damage

Sun damage is not part of the natural aging process associated with changes to the skin. Instead, it is the accumulated effect of exposure to the sun. This can result in brown pigmentation, melasma, broken blood vessels, dehydration, thinner skin, fine lines, enlarged pores, skin laxity, and even skin cancer.

Wrinkles and Fine Lines

Wrinkles, fine lines, and skin folds are a result of changes in the skin that develop naturally with time but are significantly accelerated by sun exposure and cigarettes. The skin becomes thinner and drier from the effect of the loss of collagen, elasticity and moisture retaining proteins. Changes in the...

Hands

Turn back the "hands of time". Unless you wear gloves at all times, your hands will show the telltale signs of aging.  Age related changes to the hands include brown spots, dehydration, thinned and sun damaged skin, as well as the loss of fat - making bones, tendons, and veins...

Dry or Rough Skin

The appearance of dry or rough skin is due to the irregular shedding of the cells of the upper part of the skin (epidermis).  As we age, dead cells tend to ‘clump up’ rather than being evenly shed. The skin looks dry and rough because it no longer reflects light...
