Preventing cross-infection and/or contamination in Makeup.

Applying your makeup may seem second nature to some women, but don’t let routine cause harm to your skin. Staying hygienic, paying attention to whom you share your makeup with and watching for expiration dates are necessary in avoiding contamination. Dirty brushes, unwashed hands and double dipping can cause big issues. Infectious conditions like conjunctivitis and sties can be caused by poor makeup hygiene and contaminated makeup products.

There are several precautions that can be taken to avoid the spread of infection, and to help prevent micro-organisms being passed from skin to brushes to makeup to skin.

The quality of makeup also makes a huge difference. 100% mineral-based makeup can help avoid irritation and have natural anti-inflammatory properties along with SPF. Be aware of low-grade mineral makeups impersonating high quality options like Glo Skin Beauty.
